07 June 2023: In El Genina city, West Darfur state, a Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) IDP camp manager was killed by armed men while off duty. Source: NRC and UN OCHA Sudan 04 July 2023: In Omdurman city, Khartoum state, a Health Ministry was killed when he was hit by a bullet whilst inside the MSF-supported Saudi Maternity Hospital. The hospital was subsequently closed, with staff looking for a safer place to resume services. Middle East North Africa Libya 07 July 2023: Off the coast of Castelverde town, Tripoli district, Tripolitania region, a Libyan Coastguard patrol vessel approached with high speed a rescue operation by the NGO vessel Ocean Viking, operated by SOS Mediterranee and the IFRC, and fired multiple shots at close range, causing injuries to passengers onboard.
