According to the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM, April 2023), between December 2022 and April 2023, the number of internally displaced persons dropped from 412,000 to 375,000, a 9% decrease. Meanwhile, at least four regions - Menaka, Kidal, San and Sikasso - have experienced increasing population displacement. The continued deterioration of the security context, with 178 incidents affecting civilians and humanitarian workers in the first quarter of 2023, the low funding received for the Humanitarian Response Plan and access constraints significantly impact the humanitarian response. During this period, 2.2 million people recieved assistance in water, hygiene and sanitation (18% of the sectoral target) while health and food security sectors reached respectively 18% and 15% of their targets.
