In these incidents, eight aid workers have been killed and aid compounds, offices, and warehouses have been broken into and looted on 15 occasions. Africa Burkina faso 24 April 2023: At the old toll booth of Kongoussi, Bam province, Centre-Nord region, aid worker vehicles were shot at and hit by bullets by suspected JNIM militants. Source: ACLED1   Cameroon 05 April 2023: In Southwest region, MSF suspended its medical and humanitarian activities amid calls for the release of four staff members who have been detained since 27 December 2021, when they were arrested at the Nguti checkpoint whilst transporting a patient with gunshot wounds in an ambulance. Source: MSF   Nigeria 26 April 2023: In Ngala town and LGA, Borno state, Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) militants invaded the guest house of three international aid workers and two contracted national security guards, and abducted them. Sources: AWSD2, HumAngle and Zagazola   South Sudan 21 April 2023: In an unspecified location, a national INGO aid worker was attacked and injured by unidentified perpetrators who stormed his home while he was sleeping in a suspected revenge attack. Source: AWSD2 Middle East and North Africa Yemen 20 April 2023: In Bab al Yemen district, Sanaa, a stampede during a cash handout event at a charity distribution centre inside a school resulted in the death of 85 people, mostly women and children, and the injury of 322. Sources: Hurriyet, Sylhet Mirror, The Journal and The New Arab The Americas Haiti 21 April 2023: In Cite Soleil neighbourhood, Port-au-Prince, rampant fighting hindered the ability of MSF teams to access the Brooklyn neighbourhood in order to pick up seriously wounded people, or to procure oxygen supplies for the Tabarre Hospital. Source: MSF Insecurity Insight. 2023.
